The People's Republic of Bangladesh has opened a Trade and Service Center of the AMKODOR holding

On 26-27 April 2017, an official visit to the People's Republic of Bangladesh of a delegation of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Minister V. Vovk took place. The purpose of the visit was a meeting with the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the opening of the Trade and Service Center AMKODOR Palash Industrial Zone Ltd. in Palash, Narsingdi province. The AMKODOR holding was represented by the Director General of the JSC AMKODOR, holding managing company, Valery Ivankovich and his deputies, and also the heads of the JSC Promagroleasing.


On April 26, there was a meeting of the members of the Belarusian delegation with the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Ms. Sheikh Hasina Vazed. During the meeting, the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus V.Vovk informed the Prime Minister about the work done to develop the trade turnover between the countries, the progress in the implementation of a major project for the delivery of the AMKODOR machinery for the needs of the Ministry of Local Government and Development of Cooperatives of the People's Republic of Bangladesh through the Belarusian financial operator, the JSC Promagroleasing.

For reference. The JSC Promagroleasing together with the AMKODOR holding provided delivery to the People's Republic of Bangladesh of 692 units of special-purpose machinery AMKODOR and 702 units of replaceable working attachments worth about USD 50 million. 

Ms. Sheikh Hasina was also informed about the establishment of the joint venture AMKODOR PALASH Industrial Zone Ltd. and the opening of the Trade and Service Center of the AMKODOR machinery in Palash. The Belarusian party considers the establishment of the joint venture as a project of further consolidation in the market of the Republic of Bangladesh, rendering high-quality and reliable service support for the delivered machinery, and establishment of the assembly production of the construction and agricultural machinery, training of local technical personnel and operators, establishment of new jobs and entering the markets of the neighboring countries in the future.

Sheikh Hasina stated that AMKODOR was the flagship of the development of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bangladesh, and relations with all enterprises of the mechanical engineering industry of the Republic of Belarus would be arranged according to the principle of the relations with AMKODOR. She expressed satisfaction with the existing partnership relations and stated about full support of the government for the development of the AMKODOR holding business in the country.


The grand opening of the Trade and Service Center AMKODOR Palash Industrial Zone Ltd. took place on the territory of this enterprise on April 27 and was timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

For reference. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of Bangladesh were established on 21 February 1992.

On 11-13 November 2012, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich visited Bangladesh. Agreements to intensify joint visits at the highest level to strengthen the political basis for the development of bilateral relations, the introduction of a number of important trade and economic and investment projects in the field of industrial cooperation were reached.

On 8-11 July 2013, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Ms. Sheikh Hasina Vazed paid a return visit to the Republic of Belarus. Agreements on cooperation in the field of export crediting, taxation, supply of agricultural machinery to Bangladesh, energy, education and culture were signed.

At the official opening ceremony of AMKODOR PALASH Industrial Zone Ltd. the Belarusian party was represented by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Vitaly Vovk, the Director General of the JSC AMKODOR, holding managing company, Valery Ivankovich, his deputies, the heads of production, marketing and service departments, the heads of the JSC Promagroleasing.

The Party of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was represented by the Minister of Local Government and Development of Cooperatives of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and Cooperatives of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Abdula Malek, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AMKODOR PALASH Industrial Zone Ltd. Mr. Anirudha Kumar Roy, representatives of the regional authorities, clergy and business circles.


During the ceremonial event, the official meeting of Vitaly Vovka and Khandker Mosharraf Hossein was held.

State flags of the Republic of Belarus, the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the flag of the AMKODOR holding were raised.



The honorary guests were acquainted with a training center for the training of technical experts and operators, premises of a service center with equipped sections and equipment for works, as well as a warehouse of spare parts and consumables ...

... models of delivered machines with technical specifications and special options for optimal operating conditions in the Republic of Bangladesh.


At the end of the opening ceremony of the Trade and Service Center, the experts of the AMKODOR holding demonstrated technical capabilities of the special-purpose machinery in operation. During the event, the Minister of Local Government and Development of Co-operatives of the Republic of Bangladesh gave specific instructions on concluding a new contract with the JSC Promagroleasing in the near future to supply the next shipment of the AMKODOR machines worth USD 17 million.


After the opening ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Director General of the JSC AMKODOR, holding managing company, held a meeting on the development of the Trade and Service Center. There was made a decision to equip a training ground for the implementation of a training program for experts and development of practical skills in the machinery operation while performing various types of work.

During the visit, the heads of the AMKODOR holding and the JSC Promagroleasing also held meetings with representatives of financial companies and ministries of the Republic of Bangladesh. During the talks, the ways to further develop cooperation and increase the trade turnover between the countries were discussed.
