AMKODOR Signed the Contract to Supply the Machines to Egypt

On 24 May 2018, General-Major Mohammad  Al-Zamallut, the Governor of Wadi El-Hadid (the Arab Republic of Egypt), and General-Major Dr. Mostafa Hadhod, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egyptian Company for Agriculture and Rural Development, visited the JSC AMKODOR, holding managing company. S. Rachkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Arab Republic of Egypt, accompanied the guests. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the machines manufactured by the AMKODOR holding and held talks.

The guests inspected the holding samples of machines at the permanent exhibition within the territory of the enterprise, and then they saw the machines in operation.

During the talks with the heads of the AMKODOR holding, the parties signed the contract worth more than USD 750 thousand. The contract stipulated supplies of loaders of various modifications, other road construction and construction machines to Egypt. The supplies would be provided that year. In addition, the parties at the talks discussed the ways and opportunities of further cooperation having expressed high interest in its development.

AMKODOR holding machines had been known in North-West Africa for several years, but the visit to Egypt of A. Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, gave an additional powerful impetus to enter the Egyptian market. The holding signed a dealer contract with one of the companies, and then first five machines were delivered. They have been successfully operated to this day, there are no serious complaints. At the moment, Egypt already has two AMKODOR holding dealers.

V. Ivankovich, Director General of the JSC AMKODOR, holding managing company, emphasized that the Egyptian market was of great interest for the enterprise. “We are very interested in Egypt — it is a very dynamically developing country with a large population where great attention is paid to agriculture and industry. We are ready to look for compromise prices to meet the parameters where preference will be given to our machines. A promising 5-year plan of promotion to this market has been created, and we want to gain a foothold there. It is required to reach a new level of cooperation with the prospect to open assembly production in Egypt”.

Mostafa Hadhod, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egyptian Company for Agriculture and Rural Development, noted the high quality of Belarusian machines and their capabilities. “I hope that considering this we will be able to be a prospective dealer at the Egyptian market. This will also depend on the development of cooperation between our company and AMKODOR”, - he said. – Together with the heads of the holding we have discussed the establishment of both pre-sale and after-sale service centers. We would also like to establish centers for the joint assembly of the machines in Egypt”.

Mostafa Hadhod noted that in general the Belarusian special-purpose machines had good prospects to stay at the Egyptian market. “Our President is planning to develop about 4 mln. feddans (1 feddan is 0.42 ha) of agricultural lands before 2030. That is why there is a great opportunity to supply agricultural, road construction AMKODOR machines, as well as grain drying plants to  our country", – he explained.
